On 20 and 21 September the new students of our one-year full-time MA and MSc for the 2009-2010 academic year commenced their studies with two Introduction Days. It was really great to welcome 65 new students from 16 different nationalities and to see all of them together.
The first Introduction Day was filled with ice-breaking games and activities. This took place in a building close by TiasNimbas where the students in a relaxed environment could introduce themselves to each other in a casual manner. Stories from alumni and information on Career Services and the Professional Development Portfolio was given.
The second Introduction Day was at TiasNimbas. The new students continued with the ice-breaking activities, learned more about what is academically expected of them over the next 12 months as well as had a workshop on Cultural Differences and Intercultural Management.
As their pictures were taken that day, formal business attire was required. It was great to see all the students standing outside in the TiasNimbas courtyard. Everyone looked very professional and was excited about the start of their Master. I look forward to watching them learn and develop over the next 12 months.
