Can a Non-European Find a Job in The Netherlands after the TiasNimbas Master?

Many Master candidates living outside of Europe ask me if it is possible to find a job in The Netherlands after they have completed the Master programme.

At TiasNimbas we have connections to recruitment companies who coach our students in finding what direction they want to pursue and what kinds of companies are suitable to their career ambitions. Further, the Dutch government has recently implemented a new rule that allows foreignors, who come to The Netherlands for study, to extend their residence permit for a year in order to find employment. I am very pleased with this new rule, and so are the current foreign students, as they have more time to find a job they want in the fields of marketing and finance.

To tell the truth, I had not originally considered The Netherlands as a destination in my student traveling. So it came as a surprise to my friends back in Russia that I ended up living in the cozy town of Utrecht, half an hour by train from Amsterdam. Utrecht is the base for TiasNimbas Business School, where I am enrolled as a full-time one-year master student in financial management.

When it comes to the main reason for opting for TiasNimbas Business School I would say it was due to its high ranking in the 2006 Financial Times European Business School List. Apart from that I was attracted to the extensive curriculum, the focus on developing soft skills alongside learning about my major area of interest – finance. I also had a very good impression of the school administration that was always giving me timely and effective support during my enrollment process.

I came to Holland and never regretted my decision. It is an ever-green country! Now looking out of the window, I can see trees with rosy blossoms, and it is wonderful. Of course, there are minuses as elsewhere. Living in Holland means living with some cold rain and constant weather changes. I find Dutch people very nice and friendly, but it’s sometimes difficult to leak into their friends’ circle. But all these things do not really matter when you are young, cosmopolitan, easy to adapt and love traveling. And besides, TiasNimbas fosters a very international culture with students coming from all corners of the earth.

So it is really a life-time experience, and like elsewhere everything is up to you, and every success or failure eventually boils down to your motivation and willingness to take up challenges and work hard.

We would need to receive your application as soon as possible, especially if you need a visa in order to study in The Netherlands.

The Dutch government takes up to 6 weeks to process a visa application and we would need to complete your application quickly so that you don't miss the start of the master programme on 17 September.
